Mike Journee serves as communications director for the Idaho Education Association. 

Before joining IEA, he served for five years as the chief spokesperson for the City of Boise under Mayor Dave Bieter, worked for eight years at Boise State University in high-level communications roles, and served as press secretary under former Idaho Gov. Dirk Kempthorne.

Mike and his wife, Britney, live in Boise with their 14-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son, who are both thriving public school students. Mike relishes his role in supporting Idaho’s public school educators and to helping to build a public education system where all flourish.
